utPLSQL – The Perfect Testing Tool for Lazy People

Abstract:

We all test our code before committing it to production – some more, some less – but no matter which type you are: don't waste the tests you wrote ad hoc, and don't write the same tests over and over again.
The magic word is reuse.

Every test you run should be executed successfully in every consecutive version of your application to prevent regression. This is easier said than done – especially in the specialised setting of a database environment.

In this demo session you'll learn how to set this up with utPLSQL.

Sabine Heimsath is a freelance Oracle APEX and PL/SQL developer based in Germany. She studied Information Science in Warwick and Münster – where she discovered her love for relational databases and data modelling. She started her professional career at Oracle Consulting in Frankfurt in 1999, and has since worked across a wide range of industries, always with the Oracle Database at the centre of things. She is a member of Sym42 and ora2know and is a regular speaker at conferences such as DOAG, POUG and UKOUG, because she believes in the community as a great place to learn.
